Amber Bass, a longtime WCSD Nutrition Services employee, was recently honored with the Nevada “Recognizing Inspiring School Employees” (RISE) Award by the Nevada Department of Education and Governor Joe Lombardo’s office.

Washoe County School District (WCSD) Board of Trustees approved the design phase funding for the Edward C. Reed High School modernization project at the February 13, 2024 meeting. The Board approved Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP)1 to secure the electrical switchgear equipment (order lead time of one year) in October 2024. This project was identified in the 2023 Facility Modernization Plan (FMP). Reed High School was built in 1974 and this modernization project will be replicated in the other high school courtyard models in the district.

All WCSD students may now ride RTC buses for free! The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) Youth Pass program provides free, year-round public transportation to WCSD students.
