Who We Serve
Project 150 Reno serves displaced, disadvantaged and homeless high school students in Northern Nevada.
The U.S. Housing and Urban Development 2018 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress reported:
- Approximately 6,800 (36%) of the 19,300 high school students in Washoe County are identified as disadvantaged, meaning these students are eligible for free/reduced-price lunch.
- 1,404 Nevada youths were homeless with 1,177 staying in a place not meant for human habitation.
- Approximately 84% of the homeless youth were unsheltered and on their own, unaccompanied by a parent of guardian. This is the highest rate in the U.S.
Project 150 Reno was created out of our community’s desire to help these students.
High school is tough enough without having to worry about your next meal is coming from or where you’re going to sleep at night.
We provide basic needs – clothing, shoes, school supplies, food – to help keep these students in school.

Washoe County School District is proud of the wide array of high school educational programs that are available to students in our community. These include zoned traditional comprehensive high schools that offer a variety of courses and programs to help prepare students for a wide range of careers and educational paths, to career and technical schools and college preparatory programs that help prepare students for college and careers by providing them with academic and technical skills, real-world experience, and training for a variety of careers.
For students interested in The Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology (AACT), the Debbie Smith Career & Technical Education Academy (DSCTE), Wooster High’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program or Wooster High’s Bilingual Education program the initial application deadline is Oct. 18, 2024. More information can be found below.
For students interested in Truckee Meadows Community College High School, the application period opens Dec. 9, 2024 and closes on Feb. 28, 2025. See below for dates and times for TMCCHS’s information nights coming soon.
For students wishing to attend a traditional comprehensive high school other than the one for which they are zoned, they must apply through the School of Choice program. The initial fall window application deadline for School of Choice is Oct. 24, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit the School of Choice webpage. Truckee Meadows Community College High School (TMCC HS) offers a unique opportunity for motivated 10th-12th grade students to earn both a high school diploma and college credits simultaneously, working toward a certificate of achievement or an associate degree. This program provides a mature, supportive environment where students engage in a challenging, project-based curriculum designed to foster critical thinking and high academic achievement. Current students may view and print unofficial transcripts using MyTMCC (log in to your Student Center). If you are not a current student and need to request an unofficial transcript, please contact Admissions and Records for assistance.
Official TMCC transcripts can be sent to other NSHE Institutions (UNR, UNLV, GBC, WNC, CSN) free of charge. Complete the online Transcript Request Form.
Official TMCC transcripts being sent to all other colleges and universities can be ordered through the National Student Clearinghouse. These orders can be set up to be received directly by the student, an employer, or an institution. There is a fee associated with this request. Important: Ensure you are selecting the non-NSHE transcript order option.
Rush official transcripts can be ordered in person at the Admissions and Records office in Red Mountain 319 on the Dandini Campus for same-day pickup. These transcripts are stamped “Issued to Student.”
Note: A rush processing fee of $8.25 must be paid at the Cashier’s office at the time of your request. Checks must be made payable to The Board of Regents.
