Concurrent Enrollment Classes

* Denotes courses that have been approved by the NCAA and meets requirements to pursue collegiate level athletics.

Concurrent Enrollment:

These are college courses taught by high school instructors. In most cases, high school students will attend class on the high school campus, in a web-based format or as a hybrid (combination of face-to-face and web-based).

Registration: Students can register for dual enrollment college courses through their high school counselor. To receive credit at both the high school and college, students must complete a specific Application for Dual Credit prior to registering for a dual enrollment class and submit it to the high school. This is in addition to completing and submitting a college admission application as a non-degree student.

Participation Requirements: High school students participating in dual enrollment courses must meet the required pre-requisites for specific classes, meet the minimum high school GPA, maintain consistent attendance, attend an orientation session, as well as other college requirements for participation.

Fees/Costs: For the 2026-2027 school year the WCSD will be covering these costs (fees for these classes are normally set at $110.00 per course)

Drop Dates: These dates are set by the college. Please refer to the specific college for applicable dates as they differ from the WCSD dates.

Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Natural Disasters

This college course will emphasize the geology of earth's natural hazards including earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, landslides, global warming, and ozone depletion. Students will learn how geologic processes can directly affect people, property and human made structures. Procedures to mitigate such hazards will be explored. In addition to earth's natural hazards, some other important concepts to be addressed include population growth pressures on natural resources, uniformitarianism, and geology as a foundation to understanding our environment. It includes the study of circular functions, their graphs and applications, analytic trigonometry, the coordinate geometry of lines and conics and elementary vector algebra. CE 198 (S1)

Special Topics in Healthcare

These courses are ideal for students interested in medicine, nursing, CNA, EMT, sports medicine, physical therapy, medical research, ultrasound sonography, Radiology/X-ray Tech, or any other healthcare careers. The courses run in sequence and students must enroll in both semesters.

Students need to be organized, responsible, and able to meet deadlines consistently.

We are looking for students who:

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (to qualify for TMCC Jumpstart Dual Enrollment)
Are interested in healthcare and/or biomedical careers
Demonstrate strong responsibility and time management
Have the maturity to meet college-level expectations and deadlines

Various short courses and experimental classes covering a variety of subjects. The course will be a variable credit of one-half to six credits depending on the course content and number of hours required. The course may be repeated for up to six credits.

Transferability: May not transfer towards an NSHE bachelor's degree

This college course emphasizes the development of basic medical vocabulary used to describe the body's anatomical systems with emphasis on the definition, use, spelling and pronunciation of terms. Attention will be focused on disease, normal body structure and function and pharmacology terminology. Expectations for this course are determined by the partner University/College. Because NURS 140 is a TMCC Nursing course, students must meet the expectations of the TMCC Nursing School. This includes a strict policy of NO late work. Students need to be organized, responsible, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
